Mission & Career
Do work that matters and know your next step.
Mission & Career is about how you feel about your work and where it's heading. Work counts whether it's a job, a business, school, caregiving, or volunteering.
The OLV Assessment looks at two things: how much of your work week feels meaningful, and how clear you are on your next step. Meaningful work uses your strengths or makes a difference you care about. A clear next step is one you could name and start this month.
Why it matters
Only 20% of employees worldwide were engaged at work in 2025, the lowest level since 2020.
In a McKinsey survey of more than 1,000 U.S. employees, 70% said their sense of purpose is largely defined by their work.
Quick self-check
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with your Mission & Career right now?
- How much of your work week feels meaningful to you?
- How clear are you on your next step in your work or career?
If half or less of your week feels meaningful, or your next step is fuzzy, start with the quick wins below.
